Local Food

In the Bakewell area we are very lucky and have on offer a huge variety of locally produced, high quality food.

Chatsworth Farm Shop

This multi-award winning shop offers quality produce from the estate, tenant farms, Derbyshire suppliers and small local food producers. There is a large variety of meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables. The delicatessen has a large selection of cheeses and you can purchase Chatsworth wine and Peak Ale which is brewed on the estate.

Critchlows Butchers and New Close Farm Butchers

We are lucky enough to have two excellent butchers in Bakewell both owned by local farmers - so as far as possible all the meat is locally sourced.

The Original Bakewell Pudding Shop

The puddings are all made on-site together with a huge selection of speciality bread and cakes. They also sell foody gifts and upstairs is a tea room.

Farmers Market - Bakewell

On the last Saturday of each month there is a Farmers Market held at the Agricultural Centre from 8.30 am. It is the second largest in the country and has a huge variety of locally sourced food for sale.

This firm boasts of being the best country clothing retailers in the country. The factory shop is on Matlock Street and the retail shop is on Bridge Street. They sell a huge variety of products, from wellies to tweed jackets to ladies clothing.
